What is Electrostatic Separator?
High tension electrostatic separator, also called high voltage electrostatic separator, is a device for separating all kinds of conductors and non conductors; metals and non-metals. Inside the electrostatic separator, surrounding air layer will produce ionization because of high tension electrostatic generator, then the metals and plastic materials (conductors and non conductors) are separated from raw materials according to the different permittivity.

Working Principle of High Voltage Electrostatic Separator
In the compound electric-field of combined with high voltage corona and high voltage electrostatic; with the function of electric power and mechanical force, high voltage electrostatic separator completes the separation process through the different conductivity of materials.
Mixtures of conductor and non-conductor, metal and non-metal will be transferred to roller from the feeding device after crushing. Accompanied with the rotation of roller, materials enter into the corona electric field between the high pressure electrode and grounding electrode. For one thing, when good conductivity particles contact with the surface of grounding electrode, electric charge of conductive metal or conductor particles will be delivered by the roller electrode quickly. Under the action of the centrifugal force and gravity produced by the rotating roller, conductor particles will depart from the roller electrode and fall into the conductor hopper.
For another, non-conductor can’t pass the electric charge when contacting with roller because of weak electrical conductivity. As the opposite charges attract each other, non-conductors are adsorbed on the surface of the roller. They will be transferred to the back of roller and swept by roller brush then drop into the non-conductor hopper.
